Casselberry seems to be bad neighbors as Winter Springs residents found out at the last zoning meeting and Commission meeting.
To vote to change the current zoning has been a hot issue. Agriculture to multi unit land use has angered many Winter Springs residents and to change other zoning has proven to show that the city only cares to develop every bit of land and at any cost.
Commissioners said they wish to preserve the natural Habitats but yet showed how they cleared land to ruin the natural Habitat at the land formerly owned by Habitat for Humanity that the city intends to make into a public Park at the corner of Button RD and Seminola blvd. The descent between commissioners and the Mayor is clear no leadership has the mayor provided that is positive for the community. The issue of spending our tax dollars to purchase this property and rezone it for public use when it is clear that the residents don't want the park nor to spend money when the city is laying off fire fighters does not make sense, does it? Don't forget the retention pond is water run off from Seminola Blvd,I wouldn't want my grand kids playing in or around that filthy water and they want to make a public park to showcase a retention pond. Let them put the land back to what it was zoned for and sell it.What do you think? Voice your views at commission meetings! Rev JEF
