It used to be a good thing to be a Police man and with great reverence we thought highly of the men and women who were Police officers.
They were to protect and to serve when Laws were being broken to protect us and help us.Casselberry Police Dept now is the laugh of central Florida and a prime example of a bunch of "THUGS WITH BADGES".The disgrace the police department has been displaying the past few years speaks for itself.
When the police force is used to generate income for the city rather than provide public safety and the police are the ones harassing the general public as "THUGS",this can't be something to be proud to express?
Falsifying and Lying on police records is not acceptable and no accountability for their actions must something be done to remove these Bad "PEOPLE" and fire them and have them prosecuted.
No one on the Police force is above the law and the police are to protect us and serve us.Harassing us and criminalising the cities code enforcement to make money from us is wrong,threatening us for parking in our yards like we have done for years which now they deem illegal is wrong.
Let's get the police force to reorganize its objectives and goals to something decent instead of lying and falsifying police reports, Lying is lying and writing things that never happened is LYING. That is illegal and we shall not tolerate such examples of THUGS that are strong arming us in our city.Poor management needs to be removed and replaced.

"NUDE CARWASH CASSELBERRY STYLE"
The Casselberry chevron on Button rd has a Bikini car wash. Some residents find it totally disgusting and that is fine for them to have THEIR OWN OPINION,just don't try to force your religious views on the rest of us. I may not like what they are doing, but what I have seen is people trying to earn a living working and they happen to be wearing bathing suits. What is wrong with someone earning a living working?No sex is being sold, no prostitution no solicitation for anything except to wash "your Car", how can this be bad for our community?
The gas stations old automated wash was removed so hand washing in a car wash spot makes much sense, doesn't it?
Now when the City leaders decide to help harass the owner by helping organize citizens to complain and further complain on record and to try and regulate the owner out of business show the contempt and corruption within our city government.
What about all the grade school girls and boys soliciting for everything from Band, cheerleaders,soccer teams and the such who solicited wearing less than the what sometime looks like nothing for their charitable donations? That seems to be just fine is a "DUEL STANDARD".

"THE PERFECT WORLD OF CASSELBERRY"
In a perfect world in Casselberry,you and I are not suppose to exist.We do exist and we do not fit into a perfect mold. Our homes and properties do not fit into a regular block style map with various boundaries, shapes ,sizes and different architectural structures. To strong arm our residents to comply with what was legal for years but now and lately the Commissioners and Mayor have deemed illegal now shows that they are not only out of touch with reality but also dumb as a brick with no common sense. The commissioners all disagreed about building the well hated "FLYOVER PASSES" as they have proven that they ruin communities,the residential areas and the businesses. The mayor and the rest argued but decided they needed to stick "together" vote wise so that they would not lose credibility governmental wise i9n the surrounding areas. Their decision to build what we the citizens don't want because the mayor can get $72 million in money to fund"Part" of the project,that we don't want is ludicrous and makes no common sense. There greed to take the money so other important projects around the state will have no funding is plain sick.
These FLY over passes on 436 are not good for our city and will change the charm of our small community for ever and if their decision to build this is full of haste ,then there is probably something wrong going on. Pushing this to start building before the November laws change shows of the corruption and ill will of the City leaders to the citizens.
Fair speeches full of guile and resent for the common man with out a lick of common sense is proof enough that they need to be removed from office when they ignore the very people the are suppose to represent. "RAILROADING OUR FREEDOM AND RIGHTS AWY"
The new laws come into effect in November that any changes by the city will have to go before the voters rather than the city making the decision,and this is so we can oppose what they are trying to do.
The City Manager,Mayor and Commissioners are fervently busy trying to pass anything they can before the November deadline to restrict our rights to disapprove of their direction they are taking our city and the tax dollars they are spending like water in a paper bag. They are not making much sense except that they don't care and are mean spirited and don't care about the families and citizen who live here.
They keep spending and spending and we have seen them raise taxes and also raise the millage rate and for some residents on fixed incomes,retired residents it is quickly become unaffordable to live in the community that prided itself on a nice community of blue collar workers-an affordable place to live,grow up and retire in. You can now be criminalised for parking where you have parked for years in your yard,fined and towed.They passed laws to make residents pave or cement their driveways, they said we can't park more than two vehicles in our yards,keep passing consent agenda items that normal business scrutiny would oppose without letting us speak against them. This is what communism is about and what Dictators do by taking our rights to petition our Government and telling us to shut up and sit down as the Mayor loves to quash any rightfully so comments or questions to the commission. "ON GOLDEN POND" PART2
Golden Pond is nothing more than dirty filthy water runoff from Seminola Blvd. a drainage ditch retention pond with land around it that cost Seminole Co. over $6,000 a year to maintain and now it is the tax payers of Casselberry's tax burden. Mr Miller a commissioner opposes the poorly planned park but yet said to turn the property into commercial development property. Commissioner Doehrner wants the city to give up on spending on this "PARK".Commissioner Solomon said that they have not spent any money on the Park, but last time I counted$170,000.00 isn't nothing. To make a statement that they haven't spent any money is factual untrue and as the dictionary defines as a LIE.They have spent money clearing the Land of its "NATURAL HABITAT" cutting trees and underbrush that should have stayed.HAVE TO MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY so the gullible public will believe them.They have been spending money,who paid for it being surveyed? Now, all of a sudden we have a tax burden over $6,000,money being secretively being spent and it is a drainage ditch. Mr Miller stated that if Habitat for Humanity would have built on the front parcel it would have change the fundamental character of the neighborhood,wouldn't commercial developmentdo just that? It would have been a great spot to show and build community unity and someone to have a home, it shows there is no compassion or charity in our city leaders.The laid off fire fighters can go there to ponder money well spent? "ON GOLDEN POND"
The unwanted park at Seminola Blvd and Button rd is at the controversy and debate table so let's look at the facts.FIRST,The city Manager,Mayor and Commissioners purchased one part of this land from Habitat for Humanity for over $170,000.00[a lot approx 200x50 ft]. Then they made a deal with SEMINOLE CO.to combine with The city's land the retention pond and land to make another park.This was done very suspiciously fast and well voiced as opposed by more than 30 residents,specially the residents along Lake Katheryn who don't want public access to the lake[which makes much sense].The last Commission meeting Vice Mayor Susan Solomon stated that it cost Seminole co.over $6,000 a year to maintain "their Land" portion and that is because the pond is not a pond, it is water runoff from Seminola blvd put there so that the runoff water would not pollute the Lake. Bottom Line the water is filthy and is a health issue not a "pond" to showcase for a park for your kids to swim and play in or be nearby. I bet Seminole co. couldn't give that tax burden away fast enough to Casselberry and heck were you notified that the co. was giving land away? Who got bamboozled? We did and we were told that the Park was going to be beautiful,Ha, the only golden thing on that "pond is the tax money they spent and on what"a FILTHY, DIRTY,RETENTION POND" it really is.That is a hard sell when they didn't purchase new fire trucks and have fired more firefighters!Incompetent with our tax dollars is something you should view your thoughts at a commission meeting come to my mind. I know you probably have pulled up to a stop sign and looked over at the streetlight pole to see a"PRETTY "Casselberry banner /flag hanging from the light pole?If you have yet you will start noticing them on many poles.
Do I not know where I am that I need a Flag to inform me that I am in Casselberry?I know where I am all of the time so I can say at least for me I don't need the Flags/Banners.
They are pretty, look real nice,NICE AND EXPENSIVE! how MUCH DID THEY SPEND ON FLAGS?Oh, now you are starting see where our tax dollars are being spent[WASTED].
Now,because they had to put so many flags up I think we can see the real reason the Mayor,city Manager and Commission spent close to $65,000.00 on a bucket truck of which both we didn't need to spend TAX DOLLARS ON.I have not found out how much all of the flags,brackets,man hours,management hours,decision making time spent went into this project,but with the bucket truck and all installed I would adventure to say between$75,000.00-$100,000.00 conservatively.How is this lowering our tax's/tax burden and millage rates? It doesn't.Firing firefighters so you have money to buy flags and purchasing a bucket truck instead of a fire truck,sure makes so much sense to the Mayor! HAH,While someones home is burning down NOTICE THE PRETTY FLAGS it was money well spent.

I don't think it is just me but I have noticed how unfriendly our City's Manager,Mayor and commissioners are toward the general public. When you stand up and speak at a city meeting the board is very rude to heckle you with snide gestures,facial expressions and mumblings that some we can hear.
It seems their whole purpose is to discredit anything you may say without having DUE PROCESS.Yes ,that isn't very nice to treat people that way and if you have seen the past year business men that have come in to speak about problems , they have treated them worse than a "RED HEADED STEP CHILD".
The businesses in our city are paying taxes to us, why would we restrict their businesses and be so mean and rude to say WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS?
The city should be welcoming any business not shoeing them away! Our city is looking like a Ghost town,we are loosing so many business and being so rude,why would you ever want to bring a business to Casselberry?

Dwindling rights, forced communism!
Casselberry Police Sgt spoke at a the last Commission meeting that most Code enforcement complaints are generated from disgruntle neighbors who call the police when they want to irritate their neighbor or to harass them in a legal forum and way.
The police come out and decide to enforce the Laws or not when complaints are made where they would not have in the first place. If you didn't realise,this is what is called "SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT" and reeks with bias, prejudice,favoritism,harassment and is purely illegal .
It doesn't sound so innocent now does it?Our rights to be protected are being violated to harass our citizens,plain and simple. The Police are to protect and serve not to be thugs for the city to infringe on our rights at will. Don't bother complaining to the police Chief because the fox watching over the "hen house" is the same person who investigates and covers up that the fox is in the hen house,no accountability whatsoever.

To Pave or not to pave, that is the question?
Hilltop road along with the neighboring streets is a neighborhood comprised of mobile homes of various sizes ,ages and looks.These citizens used to live against the former race track for dogs and horses complex which now hails the new condominiums that look unsightly like dorms or military barracks. The streets were dirt for many years and recent years brought paved roads and sidewalks to the neighborhood.
City of Casselberry is now ruling with an IRON FIST to force illegally to have home owners pave or concrete their drive ways. Where once was a simple place to live by having a driveway comprised of dirt or grass the same as the road in front of the homes the city is forcing residents to pave or concrete. Most of the water meters and water pipes are in these designated areas.
Does it make sense to spend $10,000.00 on a property worth less than $24,000.00? The city is not paying for this but intends to criminalise the residents if they don't comply. Oh, you have to have a permit to put in your driveway, that is a Fancy word for TAXES.The first 15 ft is the city's right of way,have the city pave that at the city commissioners expense FIRST! The city would pave the streets with GOLD if no one stood up for what is right. Shame on them for harassing citizens that are financially challenged.Come and share you views at commission meetings. Your city Government Hard at work?Hah
I have been going to city Commission meetings for nearly a year. One meeting is enough to make you sick that the commissioners,Mayor and City Manager are raising the tax burden on its citizens rather than lowering our tax burden.
If you follow meeting to meeting the city "Hopes" you forget what went on in prior meetings.This really is not being HONEST with us is it nor is it a responsible way for the city to act.
They keep[city commissioners] stating that they are saving money when they are intentionally misrepresenting themselves.When someone does not tell the truth by omitting important facts and truths,or makes an untrue statement,I would not call that person "FACTUALLY CHALLENGED" I would just call them a Liar.How to call them Liars and be politically correct,naw Common sense is to factually call them a liar and demand to have them speak the truth to the citizens and everyone without lying is what is right. How can we trust them when they continue to keep LYING? Do you want proof ? Go to a city commission meeting and ask a question? The opening statements at city meetings contains a statement that says" That the public is not allowed to affect the decision making process of the Meetings".WHAT?That is the fundamental purpose that we have in America to petition our government when we are not pleased and if they don't like it that we have issues with their poor decisions they should stop making poor decisions and stop raising our taxes and wasting valuable tax dollars to study how to tax us more such as the street light survey[Thousands].
Where are all the complaints and the action to the response?Where and how are we going to get answers from the city Publically?If not at commission meetings, I don't think the trash can will talk let alone E-mail us back[file "13"].The neighbor to Commissioner Doerner came and complained how the commissioner called the fire dept when it was an issue to harass the neighbor and that Commissioner Doerner should be given the $500 a call charge the many many times she called the fire dept .It was also told how she force them into removing their RV when in fact they had the right to have it there.This isn't a way to treat your neighbors nor be qualified to led our city government!WHAThappened to their complaint from June 28,2009? Rezoning to create Taxes and hardships.
Casselberry seems to be bad neighbors as Winter Springs residents found out at the last zoning meeting and Commission meeting.
To vote to change the current zoning has been a hot issue. Agriculture to multi unit land use has angered many Winter Springs residents and to change other zoning has proven to show that the city only cares to develop every bit of land and at any cost.
Commissioners said they wish to preserve the natural Habitats but yet showed how they cleared land to ruin the natural Habitat at the land formerly owned by Habitat for Humanity that the city intends to make into a public Park at the corner of Button RD and Seminola blvd. The descent between commissioners and the Mayor is clear no leadership has the mayor provided that is positive for the community. The issue of spending our tax dollars to purchase this property and rezone it for public use when it is clear that the residents don't want the park nor to spend money when the city is laying off fire fighters does not make sense,does it? Don't forget the retention pond is water run off from Seminola Blvd,I wouldn't want my grand kids playing in or around that filthy water and they want to make a public park to showcase a retention pond. Public safety or to generate income,you decide?
Casselberry Police dept on July 1,2010 wrote $10,000.00 worth of seat belt tickets. This was done again to total more than$20,000.00 in just two days in the month of July.
Was this done to "Protect and to serve" or was this done to subject our citizens to uncalled for Harassment?I am led to believe that$20,000.00 worth of seat belt tickets was solely to generate income at the cost of burdening the citizens with harsh tickets at a bad economic time. Yes, it is true it is a law and that we should wear a seat belt but hiding along 436 a police officer using binoculars to jump out and give you a seat belt ticket many people feel has nothing to do with public safety,but to generate income.

What happens to all the citizen complaints?
I have spoken to many people who have or have had problems and complaints with the city of Casselberry and their complaints have gone to deaf ears.

Hasselberry,give up your rights.
Wow, some nerve to tell us we can only have two cars parked at our home. That is fine if you only have one vehicle or two but many homes have multiple drivers.
Now you can't park in your yard where you have for years because they voted to make you a criminal for doing so.
The Mayor drives her Car for business but for example a resident Craig Tul is a criminal for driving his work van home. This is not good sense or fair. The city vehilce are driven home to park,why are we being harassed?
Yes, there has to be some sense in the community but to regulate and criminalise the residents for driving and parking in their own yards, this has gone too far. That is communism, telling us what we can and can not do.
This has not benifited the city but has caused bad blood and ill feelings to cause trouble across our city. Don't we have a choice what we want to own?

CasselberryMayor/commissions out of touch with reality.
Have you been following what has been going on at City Commission meetings?Well, don't think you will get an honest insight from the Orlando Sentinel.They have viewed our city leadership in a "good" light when they have intentionally been ruining our nice community.
I will read a quoat from another citizen:"They continue to annex for tax base purposees,yet still project to cut services. It makes absolutely no sense. The point of expanding the city is to make the city Bigger, better and stronger".
The commission keeps saying they are saving and being financially sound decissions while they have shown wasting Thousands of dollars and cutting employees[fire fighters,police etc.] while out and out spending our TAX dollars to buy Land purchase after Land purchase to tear buildings and businesses down and most to put park land at high costs .
Our city is becoming a ghost town busness wise,just look at the vacant sites,our tax dollars are paying for this, shouldn't the commission be concerned to lower our TAXES rather than raising our tax burdens? Stand up to lower our Taxes, the city will not unless we oppose them wasting it! Too many people can't afford the rising Taxes ,lets lower our Taxes and Tax burden. Rev.JEF

Welcome citizens to a complaint forum about Casselberry.
This is dedicated to the citizens who have been ignored by the city of Casselberry and wish to have their complaints,comments and resolutions hear and seen in a forum that the City Mayor, Manager,Commission and police dept can not suppress and hide.
Our constitution of the USA states we are to have a "GOVERNMENT "OF","BY" AND "FOR" THE PEOPLE" and that we have the right to"PETITION OUR GOVERNMENT". This simple issue to bring complaints to our city and have them answer our complaints has been violated as they have proven in many various Commission Meetings that we the people are ignored,harassed and distressed/humiliated publically by the same people who are suppose to be helping us and building a better,stronger place for us to live, a good community.
